Illustrated by Susan Gal, The Tower of Life is a true story about a girl named Yaffa who made it her life’s mission to recover thousands of photos of her Polish town after being invaded by Nazi soldiers. Using these photos, she built an exhibit in the US Holocaust Memorial Museum, to restore the spirit of Eishyshok, the town she grew up in. Recognized with two American Library Association awards: the Sydney Taylor Book Award and the Sibert Honor Book for the most distinguished informational book.
