NYC Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs commissioned Raul Colon to illustrate the theme for 2022’s Immigrant Heritage Month. The celebration promoted events designed to recognize the history, traditions, and contributions of NYC’s diverse immigrant communities. Raul was asked to illustrate NYC moving into recovery and beyond from COVID-19, and uplifting immigrants as part of that recovery; many of whom kept the city running throughout the pandemic.
